This slow-paced, deep-diving class will entwine shoulder movements into core work. An intensely strengthening sequence, this is open to experienced yogis with healthy shoulders (see Erin if you aren’t certain if this describes you) and a consistent yoga practice.
One aspect of the sequence will work to mobilize the upper back, and to view how the limits of thoracic mobility may prevent us from accessing core strength (think: outfitting the classic sit-up with biomechanical intelligence). From there, we’ll explore weight-bearing on the hands and arms, working from quadruped to crawling to plank to inverting. We’ll make space for twisting poses that require a supple strength, a sequence for self-massage, and the solid savasana that comes at the end of vigorous class.
While the expanded class format leaves plenty of time for your questions, our focus is on movement, long lecture will not be included. Cost is $45.
